PUBLIC POLICY COUNCIL
The Public Policy Council monitors and evaluates public policies for their impact on health care and promotes nurses' participation in the public policy process.
Membership Six to ten members. Six members elected at large with remainder (if necessary) appointed by the Nominating Committee. Members will include one member serving on the Board of Directors and at least one staff nurse, one APN, one nurse educator, one nurse administrator. A consumer will be invited to participate on the Public Policy Council as a non-voting participant. (Article VII WNA Bylaws)
Specific Responsibilities:

Identifies a public policy agenda for the Association

Reports on progress related to goals and other activities at each meeting of the WNA Board of Directors.

Prepares an annual report for submission to the membership at the Annual Meeting.

Carries out the activities of the Association as identified and assigned by the Board of Directors.
