The Wisconsin Nurses Association mission is nurses caring for nurses and nursing, by preserving, supporting and advancing the profession of nursing. The purpose of WNA is to:
1) foster high standards of nursing, 2) stimulate and promote the professional development of nurses and advance their economic and general welfare, and 3) work for the improvement of health standards and the availability of health care services for all people.
Organizations including the American Nurses Association have developed vision and core value statements. This is in addition to identification of the priorities of the Association. These statements are all helpful in providing direction when responding to promoting and/or developing strategies related to WNA.

KNOWLEDGE - WNA will promote the development and application of knowledge to care for culturally diverse patient populations in all health care settings.
