This site is developed to provide you, the Registered Nurse, information and other resources for successful employment in today's dynamic and ever-changing workplace environment.
Two of WNA's Core Issues address Nurses Workplace Health, Rights and Safety, along with issues related to nurse staffing and nurse shortages.
WNA utilizes a variety of strategies to promote nurses health, rights and safety that include:
1. Providing one-on-one support, advice and/or counseling related to a workplace issue. 2. Providing relevant tools, information and resources that will better equip you to self-advocate for yourself in your employment setting. 3. Influencing legislative and regulatory policies through WNA Government Affairs Program. 4. Promoting professional nurse competencies through WNA's Educational Offerings. 5. Educating nurses and employers about the issues related to impaired practice and WNA's Peer Assistance Program.

Welcome to the Wisconsin Nurses Association Workforce Advocacy Program "Tools for Self-Advocacy". The Wisconsin Nurses Association is providing these resources and guidelines for you to use as a quick reference when questions, problems, issues or concerns about your Workforce and/or your practice arise.
It is the Wisconsin Nurses Association philosophy that nurses, like you, can effectively address Workforce and nursing practice issues. This is why the WNA Workforce Advocacy Program was developed - to offer support and advice ranging from education and training to resource materials to one-on-one assistance with Workforce and practice concerns.
