Message from Carolyn Krause, WNA President:

Krause.jpg"October 7-9, 2010 marks the culmination of our year-long Celebration of WNA's 100 years as advocates for registered nurses and the profession of nursing. Last year's Convention was an acknowledgement of our impact on the past. This year we will launch into the future and discover our opportunities, potential, emerging roles, and responsibilities. Please join me, your colleagues, friends, and future registered nurses at this year's WNA/WSNA Annual Convention. You won't want to miss it!"

Pre-Conference Offerings

WNA's "100 FACES OF NURSING"
In conjunction with our 2010 100th Anniversary Celebration, WNA announces the "100 Faces of Nursing" Project, started to acknowledge members' accomplishments and contributions to the profession and the association over the past 100 years. We're especially looking for members who do great things, but aren't often recognized, and members who represent the diversity of WNA's membership. Read the full story on page 2 in Nursingmatters. We all know a nurse who should be chosen to represent WNA's 100 Faces of Nursing, so nominate a nurse today....Deadline for submission is July 15th. Individuals selected will be notified by the end of August.

FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE 100TH ANNIVERSARY flower_adjusted.jpg

In the same year as WNA's 100th Anniversary, it is also the 100th anniversary of the death of Florence Nightingale. In recognition of these two events, WNA commissioned Bill Powell of Epiphany Farm Daylilies to create a day lily to be named the Florence Nightingale lily. Florence Nightingale Lily posters will be on sale at WNA Registration for $15.00. And note cards (2 each of 3 designs) will be on sale, 6 for $12.00. In addition, don't miss your opportunity to bid on two framed posters (framed by Sue Carter) and an original copper etching of the Florence Nightingale lily (by Burt Wagner at Crooked Line Etching Studio) at the WINPAC Silent Auction.

SPONSORS AND EXHIBITORS
Join us on Friday, October 8th, 2010 at the Monona Terrace and Convention Center in Madison in support of nurses and students from Wisconsin at the 2010 Wisconsin Nurses Association/Wisconsin Student Nurses Association Annual Meeting & Conference. The 2009 WNA Annual Convention was an incredible event, and we have even greater expectations for Part 2 of WNA's 100th Anniversary Celebration. Between 300-400 nurses and student nurses from across the state are expected at the conference, and Madison - on a home football weekend in fall - is an experience you don't want to miss!

We are very thankful for the support we've received from Conference exhibitors and sponsors in the past, and we hope your support will continue! For sponsor and exhibitor registration information, please click on the link below.
