CONFERENCE GOALS
- To enable registered nurses and other correctional personnel to better collaborate and utilize new knowledge and skills to improve the mental and physical health of inmates of adult and juvenile correction and detention facilities
- To optimize the safety, professional satisfaction, and personal resilience of all personnel delivering healthcare in a challenging environment.
TARGET AUDIENCE
- Registered nurses, physicians, counselors, social workers, administrators, and security personnel employed in correctional and detention facilities or health departments.
The 2023 Correctional Health Care Conference is jointly provided by the Wisconsin Nurses Association and the Consortium of Correctional Health Care Professionals. This 2-day conference offered participants up to 11.5 contact hours of nursing continuing professional development credit.
Training Credits: Certified law enforcement, tribal law enforcement, jail, and juvenile detention officers may claim up to 11.5 credits toward their annual LESB recertification training requirements. Certified Correctional Health Professionals (CCHPs) may claim up to 11.5 hours toward their annual NCCHC recertification continuing education requirements.
Requirements for Successful Completion: Participants must have completed the online conference evaluation for the overall conference and each session attended by Sunday, May 21, 2023 to receive the contact hours.
Attended Conference but didn't complete the evaluation by May 21?
There is a $25 charge to have WNA re-open the online evaluation and receive a Certificate of Completion This option for late completion will be available only until November 21, 2023. Go to www.wisconsinnurses.org/reopen-eval/ for more information.

Wisconsin Nurses Association is approved with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by Montana Nurses Association, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Handouts and resources received from presenters will be posted as they are received - a blue link will indicate that a handout is available. Participants may download/print handouts as desired – no hardcopies of these posted handouts will be available at the conference. These handouts will be available for 6 months following the conference.

COVID Precautions
WNA requires ALL attendees to monitor their symptoms and be up to date on COVID-19 vaccination. If you are symptomatic (fever, shortness of breath, cough, muscle or body aches, vomiting or diarrhea, new loss of taste or smell) it is best that you stay home. Due to the on-going COVID pandemic, we strongly recommend masks be worn when indoors at the conference, and if transmission levels are high in Brown County at the time of the conference, we may require them to be worn indoors for all attendees.
The NCCHC CCHP certification exam will be offered on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 3:00-5:00 PM prior to the CHCC Conference at the Radisson Green Bay.

A block of standard rooms are available for Wednesday, May 3, 2023 and Thursday, May 4, 2023 at the rate of $90.00/night. You will be required to provide a credit card upon making the reservation, but you will not be charged until you check out. Be prepared to show necessary identification/documentation at check-in to receive the state room rate. If your reservation should be tax-exempt, proof of tax-exempt status must be presented at check in; otherwise, state and local taxes will be charged.
