Requirements for Successful Completion: Participants must have completed the online evaluation for the overall conference and each session attended by December 4, 2022 to receive the contact hours. There is a $25 charge to have WNA re-open the online evaluation after December 4. This option for late completion will be available only until May 20, 2023.  Go to www.wisconsinnurses.org/reopen-eval/ for more information. PLEASE NOTE: you will NOT need your Registration ID# to begin this evaluation as was stated in the conference Program. 

Continuing Education Credit: This educational offering is jointly provided by the Wisconsin Nurses Association (WNA) and the Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (WAND). The conference offers participants up to 10.25 contact hours of:

• nursing continuing professional development (NCPD) through WNA, some of which have been designated as ‘pharmacology’ content. ALL attendees (not just nurses) are eligible to receive these contact hours; it is the responsibility of participants to determine whether the content provided meets the specific requirements of their certifying or licensing body.
• nutrition and dietetics continuing education units through WAND; it is the responsibility of participants to determine whether the content provided meets the specific requirements of their certifying or licensing body.

Please note that the continuing education hours earned at this conference may be used toward:

• certification/renewal of CDCES or BC-ADM® certification through ADCES.
• certification/renewal of the RD or RDN & DTR or NDTR Credentials and certification through CDR.

Session Presenters at Conference can receive a $75 discount by entering the supplied 'Discount Code - Presenter' on the registration form. This discount is available only to presenters choosing to register for conference and cannot be transferred to a 'substitute' registrant.

This conference will feature a POSTER DISPLAY on the morning of SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19, from 7:15 am - 12:45 pm! Please plan to visit the poster presenters at the conference and earn .5 contact hour of CE credit when you indicate on the conference evaluation which posters you visited/spoke with presenters.

The conference planning committee invited students and professionals to submit an abstract describing their scholarly research OR clinical project focusing on DIABETES care or education to be considered for inclusion in the Poster Display. This is an opportunity for individuals to share their work and innovative ideas with YOU in a relaxed educational setting.

WNA requires ALL attendees to be up to date on COVID-19 vaccination and to monitor for symptoms of COVID infection before attending conference. Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, we strongly recommend masks be worn when indoors at the conference, and if transmission levels are high in Winnebago County at the time of the conference, we may require them to be worn indoors for all attendees.

In addition, each conference attendee will choose a color-coded sticker for their name tag to indicate their social distancing preference (green, yellow, or red) and ALL participants are expected to gauge their interpersonal interactions with respect for the individual's preference.

• A green color-coded sticker means that a person is okay being approached at shorter distances. They are fine with direct physical contact such as handshakes or hugs.
• A yellow color-coded sticker means that a person is cautious and would like to keep six feet distance. They prefer indirect physical contact such as elbow bumps or air high-fives.
• A red color-coded sticker means that a person is extra cautious and would like to keep further than six feet in distance. They would prefer no direct contact, no exceptions.

WNA is seeking support for our Diabetes Care & Education conference in the following ways:

1. Be an exhibitor … Reserving your space will give you access to participants from 7:30 AM-3:15 PM on Friday, November 18th with dedicated exhibitor time from 7:30-8:30 AM, 10:45-11:15 AM, during the participant lunch, from 12:30-1:15 PM, and from 2:30-3:15 PM. Breakfast, breaks, and lunch will be provided in or near the exhibit area for best visibility. Conference participants will be provided with a ‘passport’ to encourage visits with exhibitors with prizes awarded for the most stamps or stickers. The cost of an exhibit ‘booth’ is $500 and includes a skirted 8-foot table with chairs and internet connection if needed. Disclaimers: a) All displays will be located outside the conference space; b) WNA welcomes all vendors to exhibit at the conference, but we do reserve the right to refuse any exhibitor deemed objectionable to our purpose.

2. Be a sponsor …. We are accepting financial sponsorship of the conference in the form of an unrestricted educational grant. Three levels of sponsorship are available with the following benefits:

3. Be an exhibit theatre presenter... (SORRY - ALL TIMES FILLED) Choose from one of three 15-minute timeslots during the conference on Friday to present your diabetes-related devices or technology to participants. Exhibit theatre times are 10:55-11:10 AM; 2:35-2:50 PM; or 2:55-3:10 PM. A separate room with AV equipment for your presentation will be provided along with signage. Indicate the time you prefer at sign-up, and we will do our best to honor your request. Exhibit theatre sessions are reserved on a first come, first served basis, however, preference will be given to those that can offer hands-on experience with medical devices used for diabetes management. The cost to present in our exhibit theatre is $825 (includes an exhibit table on Friday). Disclaimer: Exhibit theatre sessions will be included in the conference schedule/agenda and publicized on the conference web page as an option for participants during specific break times; participants are not required to attend or register separately.
