We have divided our activities into 4 main Forums: Education; Practice; Research; and Policy/Advocacy and two Committees: Climate Change and Food & Agriculture. Each of the Forums and Committees meet once a month or bi-monthly via a free conference call or webinar to partake in educational presentations, share progress, and strategize about collective efforts.
Nurses and nursing students of all levels of expertise and experience are welcome to join. Your interest is the only prerequisite for participation! Sign up for updates and opportunities. There is no cost to "join" ANHE. When you sign up for our email list we consider you a member and you have access to all of our updates, website content, webinars, and forums and committees. Sign up today - we'd love to have you join us!

Healthy Climate Wisconsin (HCW) is a cost-free, member-driven organization led by nurses, doctors, healthcare workers, and public health leaders across Wisconsin, from Racine to Superior. We know the far-reaching impacts of air pollution, water contamination, and the climate crisis on the health of our communities and patients can seem overwhelming when we tackle them alone, so we united behind a shared vision for a brighter future. A future where every Wisconsinite, no matter their race, income, gender, or ability, has an environment that can sustain a long, happy, healthy life.
HCW is continuously evolving as new health members join and share their ideas, but we currently have four teams that meet virtually online each month: 1) Climate-Smart Healthcare- which aims to reduce waste and emissions from our clinics and health systems; 2) Policy and Advocacy- which advocates for climate and health equity solutions on the local state, and federal levels; 3) Anti-racism- that embeds environmental justice into all our activities; and 4) The Milwaukee Team - our first geographically based team that networks with on-the-ground partners to move forward walking, biking, and public transit projects as well as clean, electrified buildings. Additional HCW initiatives open to anyone interested include the Climate and Health Communications Collaborative in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services; our Speaker Bureau which gives talks to health students, departments, and local groups; our Media Bureau which receives press training and is connected to TV or print interview opportunities; our independent air monitoring team; and our education committee.
Together, we are using our trusted voices as health workers to improve physical, mental, and social well-being. Join us by becoming a member or sign up to receive our newsletter full of climate health resources, action alerts specific to Wisconsin, and inspiring stories.
