Marshfield Clinic Health SystemThe Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) facilitates accurate documentation in the medical record for patient care, risk of mortality/severity of illness, quality outcome measures, patient safety, and correct reimbursement. This individual provides extensive record review, interaction with physicians, health information management professionals, coders, and nursing staff. Active participation in team meetings and education of staff is a key role. The Clinical Documentation Specialist requires knowledge of pathophysiology and disease process, basic computer skills, regulatory requirements, Core Measure, and Patient Safety Indicators, as well as, critical thinking, and deductive reasoning skills.

This position offers flexible weekday hours with the possibility to work remote after the completion of training.

Requires:

  • BSN or ASN; BSN preferred
  • Wisconsin RN license
  • Five years of adult acute care experience in med/surg, critical care, emergency room or PACU
