Volunteers Needed! Be a Guardian Angel.

Community Services for Older Adults

Do you have a few hours to spare each month? Would you like to make a difference in the life of an older adult? If so, you may be just the right person for this volunteer opportunity.

The South Madison Coalition of the Elderly is looking for compassionate individuals interested in becoming volunteer guardians for incapacitated older adults living in Dane County and who have no family members or friends able to serve as guardian.

We provide initial training and ongoing support for volunteers through consultation, quarterly meetings, and newsletters. The commitment requires about 2 to 4 hours each month and is flexible with your schedule. No experience is necessary—just compassion, understanding, and a desire to help.

“Our agency is a great resource for older adults in our community, and this particular volunteer program is the only one of its kind–not only here in Dane County, but also throughout the state.”
